Fellow Daphne Karagianni is a volunteer lawyer for Golden Dawn Watch, an initiative founded to monitor the Golden Dawn trial in Greece. In 2013, Greek Police arrested Golden Dawn’s leadership as well as many of its party officials and members after the murder of the young musician and activist Pavlos Fyssas. The Court of Appeals decided that 69 individuals, including the entire parliamentary group from Golden Dawn’s 2012 election will stand trial, charged with participating in a criminal organization. Due to a technological censure inside the courtroom, Daphne provides Golden Dawn Watch with information on the trial proceedings in order to bring attention to the Golden Dawn’s crimes.
