She received her bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies and Human Rights at the University of Washington. Sarah has interned with the ACLU as a legal researcher and with Abuelas de la Plaza de Mayo in Argentina. She served as a criminal investigator for a public defender office in Seattle and is a fellow of the minority rights organization Humanity in Action. Presently, she is at the International Justice Network, a human rights organization that is leading litigation against the US government in matters concerning illegal detention and detainee policy as result of the "war on terror". She is an avid traveler of the Americas and is currently developing a media democracy project to be conducted in Venezuela.
