Jakob Silas Lund is the founder and Director of Play31, an organization that uses football to bring together people who have been torn apart by war. Since 2008, Play31 has reached more than 50,000 people in Sierra Leone and has trained hundreds in conflict resolution and human rights. The organization has won the Beyond Sport Award for best use of sport in conflict resolution and the Join Our Core award for social enterprises. Jakob has previously worked on human rights issues for Amnesty International, the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the Center for UN Reform, and US Congress. Jakob has participated in and spoken at several international fora, including the Clinton Global Initiative University and TEDx, and has been selected a McGill Echenberg Human Rights Fellow. He holds a b.a. in public administration from Roskilde University and a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
