HIA Program:

Netherlands Netherlands 2007

I completed the HIA program in the Netherlands, where I studied healthcare and immigration. Afterwards, I completed a Fulbright in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina from 2007-2008 where I taught at the University of Sarajevo, The University of Zenica, and the Sarajevo Medresa. I also started writing a book on Bosnian customs, which was published in 2009 for the CultureSmart! series. After the Fulbright, I began my studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, where I primarily focused on behavioral studies in international health. I returned to Bosnia to complete my masters studies and wrote an in-depth piece on the Bosnian health care system. After graduation, I worked in the U.S. Embassy Sarajevo in the Economic section. Upon returning the United States, I settled in the Northern Virginia area, where I recently graduated from the second-degree nursing program at Georgetown University.
