United-states United States 2015

Marko is a graduated archaeologist from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Even though his official education was in that specific field, his wide interests took him to projects linked to completely different scientific areas, such as religious studies, psychology and movie making. However, he thinks that archaeology as a part of anthropology helps him a lot in the process of any change that he wants to see within the BiH society. One of the ways he is implementing archaeology in his work is through the education of youth where he works on critical observation of both past and present. Even though Marko conducted projects with various NGOs, his biggest passion is to organize volunteering actions with his local team of friends in Mostar without which he would not be what he is today. At the end, Marko is an activist who uses scientific theory and art in order to confront common stereotypes, contribute to a better understanding of the “Other” and to remind oneself of critical observation of reality.
