Mahamed K. Omar has dedicated his career to the economic and social empowerment of disadvantaged communities. He is the current Special Projects Assistant for Humanity in Action, where he assists the Director of Programs on a wide range of new projects related to program development, network facilitation, grant writing, reporting, administration, and strategic communications. Mahamed's list of previous positions are: Communications Intern with the Arab American Institute, Social Impact Fellow with Diplomat Speciality Rx, Transparent Trade Coffee Project Intern with the Social Enterprise at Goizueta, and UELIP Intern with D.C. Public Schools. Mahamed graduated from Emory University on May 2016 with a major in Political Science and a minor in Economics. He was a Fellow in the inaugural John Lewis Fellowship in the summer of 2015.
