Jamal Grant was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He is currently a mechanical and aerospace systems engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and is the founder and director of The NET Mentoring Group, which is an organization focused on closing the STEM achievement and opportunity gap as well building a pipeline to success for inner-city students. Jamal's affiliations with HIA are through the John Lewis Fellowship in Atlanta (2015) and the HIA Rwanda Study Trip (2016).
