ŁUKASZ W. NIPARKO is an activist for human rights (LL.M. in international human rights and humanitarian law from the European University Viadrina). In 2013, he graduated from St. Lawrence University (USA), where he studied Global, Asian and European Studies. He is also an alumnus of the United World College of the American West (USA). Łukasz served with various NGOs, including the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, Polish Humanitarian Action, and Stepping Stones China. In the past, he has conducted academic research on such topics as the socio-economic development model of Kerala (India), Polish post-1989 transformation, and on minority rights in China. In 2015, thanks to the support of HIA, Łukasz co-directed a summer school of tolerance and anti-discrimination in his hometown Poznań. He is also a co-founder of the Peace and Liberal Arts Education Center (China) and the Global Dialogue Center (USA). His interests concern legal prevention of discrimination and international affairs. During his free time, Łukasz enjoys biking and flâneur around Poznań as well as various community services. He is a 2014 Humanity In Action Fellow (Warsaw program), a 2016 Pat Cox Fellow, and a 2017 American Civil Liberties Union HIA Fellow.
