Born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Anne Gavin graduated from Macalester College with an Anthropology Major, a Political Science minor, and concentrations in Human Rights & Humanitarianism and Community & Global Health. While in college, she co-founded MacHOPE: Helping Open Peaceful Exchange to personalize the peace process between American and Iraqi students. In 2013, she spent her academic year studying participatory development models in six countries and in 2015/6, Anne spent nine months traveling along the EU portions of the Balkan Route, bearing witness to the reception crisis and researching innovative avenues to improve humanitarian responses. Threading through all her experiences, Anne believes in actively working to bridge the distance between voices in the United States and across the globe. She looks forward to being in touch!
