Denzel Caldwell, born and raised in Nashville, Tenessee, is a graduating senior at Morehouse College with a major in Economics and a double minor in African-American Studies and Mathematics. An Honors student, Denzel serves as Vice President of William Tucker Society, an African-American Studies organization that hosts various events highlighting issues pertaining to the African-American community. Denzel has traveled to Haiti during a Spring Break where he learned about the socioeconomic disparities of a historically significant developing nation. He spends his additional time practicing the martial arts Capoeira and Kung Fu, along with historical reading. After graduation, Denzel will be attending Duke University in the fall to pursue his Masters of Arts in Economics. He plans to pursue his Ph.D in economics and study wealth inequality among racial groups in the United States, along with policy plans to mitigate this issue. With his experience in Humanity in Action, he hopes to expand his scope of economic justice to the international arena.
