Sarah Asmelash

Sarah is a young professional with ambition in the field of business law. During her studies she has travelled frequently in emerging economies which made her aware of the importance of corporate social responsibility. These experiences sparked her interest in sustainable development, fair trade and civic engagement. Sarah holds a bachelor of laws whereby she minored in transnational and international law and followed an extracurricular year with a double major in English and Spanish linguistics. Furthermore, she completed an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree in social legal studies and minored in mediation. Sarah achieved a master of laws and conducted research in the field of contract law and corporate social responsibility. She worked for the Dutch section of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) at the department of Public Interest Litigation and various law offices in Amsterdam. At the moment Sarah works for the VU Amsterdam University at the department of state and administrative law.
