Sarah Asmelash

Sarah is a young professional with ambition in the field of business law and civic engagement. By traveling to developing countries she became aware of the importance of social justice, human rights and fair trade. It sparked her interest in sustainable development and trade law. Sarah completed a bachelor of laws whereby she minored in transnational and international law and followed an extracurricular year with a double major in English and Spanish linguistics. Furthermore, she completed an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree in social legal studies and minored in mediation. Recently Sarah achieved a master of laws and conducted research on contract law and corporate social responsibility. She has worked for the Dutch section of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) at the department of Public Interest Litigation and various law offices in Amsterdam. At the moment Sarah works for the VU Amsterdam University at the department of state and administrative law.
