Elma spent the first ten years of her life in Germany, where she finished the first three years of elementary school. She graduated from the United World College in Mostar in 2009, during which she volunteered with refugees, Roma people and orphans. Elma is currently in the Master program of Southeast European studies at Karl Franzens University in Graz. She worked in the public relations domain of some NGOs and at the International relations office at the Dzemal Bijedic University in Mostar. She is enrolled in a three year project of the Norwegian Helsinki Commitee, “Build bridges-not walls”- examining the role of universities in the western Balkans in peace building. Elma did the Pat Cox fellowship program in the Office of MEP Eduard Kukan (EPP) Slovakia, Head of the delegation for relations with Southeast Europe.
