When should I arrive?

The conference will open with a keynote address at 18.00 on the evening of Thursday, July 5.

When should I leave?

The conference program ends on the evening of Saturday, July 7.

Where will the conference be held?

Conference activities will be held at the European Parliament and select spaces throughout the city of Strasbourg.

What is the dress code?

The dress code for the conference is business casual. While ties are optional, jackets are suggested. Participants should not wear shorts, flip-flops or tank tops. All participants should wear comfortable walking shoes, especially during the site visits. 

I'm a Humanity in Action Senior Fellow. Where should I stay? 

Humanity in Action is subsidizing the cost of Senior Fellow accommodations and offering a discounted rate for three-night stays (July 5-8) at the Mercure Hotel. Senior Fellows will stay in double rooms with other Senior Fellows. Rooms will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Click here to learn more and reserve your room. 

I'm a Humanity in Action Board Member or guest of Humanity in Action. Where should I stay?

Humanity in Action has reserved several single and double rooms for Board Members and guests to stay three-nights (July 5-8) at the Hôtel Gutenburg and the Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île Hotel. Click here to learn more about these special accommodations. 

What does my registration fee cover?

Your fee covers the cost of participation in all workshops, discussions and site visits as well as lunch on Friday and Saturday. It also gives you access to the dinner on Thursday and the closing dinner/party on Saturday. 

Are there travel subsidies?

Humanity in Action Senior Fellows may request a travel subsidy for the International Conference in Strasbourg. Travel subsidies will be based on a first come first served basis, so please note that Humanity in Action may not be able to honor all requests. Click here to request a travel stipend. 

Please note that we will support 50% of the cost of travel to Strasbourg  with a maximum level of support of 100 euros for those traveling from a European country and 200 euros for those traveling from outside Europe. The deadline for submitting your request is June 1. Please contact with any questions. 

Can I bring a guest?

Yes. Humanity in Action welcomes you to bring a partner, spouse, colleague or friend who would enjoy participating in the International Conference. Please note that guests must purchase a separate ticket to attend the conference. Senior Fellows may contact to receive a discount code for their guests. 

When can I register for workshops and discussions?

Registration will open in early July for individual workshops and discussions.

When will the program schedule be available?

The full program schedule will be released in early July.

Is there a cancelation policy?  

Upon request, Humanity in Action will refund registration fees if a cancelation is requested before June 15.
