Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Stephanie Zhang is a rising junior at Emory University with a double major in Philosophy and Economics. She is the Community Organizing Chair of Asian Pacific Islander Desi-American Activists (APIDAA), an Asian American advocacy organization at Emory University that works to establish a strong socio-political identity for Asian American students. She also developed the yearly Anti-Blackness Workshop which works to deconstruct anti-Blackness in Asian American communities. Stephanie organizes various civic engagement and canvassing efforts to encourage APIDA college students to engage with local politics and to ensure immigrant neighborhoods have access to information about the civic engagement process. Outside of her community work, Stephanie is an avid runner, painter, vegetarian and all-around stubborn personality. After Emory, Stephanie plans to go to law school and ultimately work in immigration, divorce or civil law.
