Born and raised in Rhode Island, Sean Gray is a rising senior at Providence College majoring in History and minoring in Philosophy and Spanish. Interested in early American history, Sean studies the paradoxes at the heart of the United States’ foundational period in order to better understand the nation’s current political climate. He works as a Writing Tutor at Providence College’s Writing Center and as a Research Assistant for the Department of History and Classics. Sean has contributed to the Rhode Island Historical Society’s EnCompass Project, a digital primary source-based textbook about American history intended for high school students. As the Vice President of Providence College’s Student Congress, Sean collaborates with students, faculty and administration to create a more inclusive culture on campus and expand academic opportunities for students. After Providence College, Sean hopes to pursue a JD while continuing to study American history and culture.
