Raavi Asdar is a rising third year student at Oberlin College in Ohio majoring in History with an interest in national narratives and identity formation. He also studies Russian language and is interested in the histories of South and Central Asia. Outside of the classroom, Raavi has been on student senate, working with other students and administrators to encourage the institution to invest in more mental health support. From his first semester, he has been a part of cooperative living and dining on campus and a member of the pottery co-op. Raavi is also a facilitator of a deliberate dialogue space on campus called “barefoot dialogues”. He is a Texas native, having grown up in Austin, yet left home at the age of 17 when he got a scholarship to finish high school in rural Norway. In his free time, Raavi is often biking or baking bread.
