Michael C. Scott is currently Manager of Analytics and Business Development at Management Leadership for Tomorrow in Bethesda, MD. Prior to this role, Michael worked at Goldman Sachs in New York, NY within Global Investment Research.
Born in Washington, D.C. and a native of Rockville, MD, Michael enjoys exploring different cultures through food, language, music, and movement. In 2014, Michael was fortunate enough to research the intersection of gender and ethnicity in China, observing trends on gender inequality and human development of ethnic minorities. After presenting in Kunming, Michael discovered more interest in research, specifically pertaining to ethnic minorities. In 2015, Michael was selected to be the first sophomore equity research intern in Goldman Sachs’ history. He eventually joined the firm full-time, covering Steel, Metals and Mining, and Pulp, Paper, and Packaging sectors in Latin America (given his fluency in Spanish and Portuguese) and later Biotechnology and Specialty Pharmaceuticals in North America.
Additionally, Michael was a member of the American Planning Board for Humanity in Action (2018-2020), an international non-profit organization that addresses issues related to human and minority rights. Michael’s array of interests is reflected by his time spent with his many friends across the world, scuba-diving with his father, cooking plant-based meals with his mother, and hanging out with his siblings. Michael studied Economics and Chinese Studies at Morehouse College where he graduated as valedictorian in 2017.
