Michael Elizabeth Gasior, proud graduate of Carleton College in Minnesota, is a Fulbright student at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam studying for her Master of Science in Clinical and Developmental Psychopathology. She has a longstanding interest in childhood adversity and created an Instagram page dedicated to raising awareness about adversity and its long-term consequences. As part of her studies, she has contributed to two EU-funded global mental health projects focusing on Syrian refugees in Europe and on vulnerable populations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond academia, Michael Elizabeth also serves as the global-side COO of HLAB Japan, an organization that focuses on introducing Japanese high school students to the liberal arts and sciences. Through her work, she takes a multidisciplinary approach to mental health promotion for young people. She enjoys taking photos of flowers, playing piano, kayaking, and helping her mother run a flamingo lawn-flocking business.
