Maria Krayem is a Syrian-German student studying medicine and political sciences at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. She is a human rights activist and a global health advocate active at the local, national and international level with NGOs like the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA). She is a Geh Deinen Weg Scholar and has had a first-hand experience with humanitarian work. Maria has worked part-time in a women’s shelter for domestic abuse victims and is currently a volunteer with her university and local public health department as part of the COVID-19 pandemic response.
