Lotte is a recent graduate and has her BA Liberal Arts & Sciences (2017) with a major in International Studies & Conflict Studies from Utrecht University and a Research Master African Studies (2019) from Leiden University. During her studies, she was able to work on multiple projects abroad, including an exchange semester in Australia and a documentary in Israel. Her bachelor thesis focused on the international influence on state failure and conflict in the DR Congo and a second interdisciplinary thesis focused on investigating whether the human rights framework could be used to protect climate refugees. For her master thesis she did fieldwork in Mauritius on the empowerment of female entrepreneurs. Next to her studies, she has also been involved with multiple NGOs as volunteer.
