Kaila Bolton is a Canadian filmmaker with a background in visual anthropology. She aims to bring to the table a non-judgemental and collaborative approach to film, to record and represent people’s realities through her own subjective camera lens. Kaila is passionate about exploring the potential of film as a tool for empathy-elicitation and social activism. Currently, she is working on a few film projects and is also a volunteer at the Soulitate Chaibar, a social meeting space that operates as both a chai café and a cultural platform that hosts community events. In the future, Kaila hopes to work at the intersection of film, human-rights initiatives, and education – creating content that has a positive social impact, while helping others discover and explore the possibilities offered by film.
