Growing up in a Danish family in a village in Western Norway, intercultural communication has always been a part of Julie’s life, privately and professionally. Also fascinated by power relations, she moved to Denmark to study Political Science in Aarhus. After completing her BA, she moved to Copenhagen and completed an MA in Communication for Development at Malmö University in Sweden (just across the bridge), which included a 6 month internship in Kyiv, Ukraine. Julie has always spent an extensive amount of her freetime on volunteering, mainly in organizations working to spread knowledge to build bridges between Eastern and Western Europe. Currently, she is editor-in-chief of a volunteer online magazine which publishes in-depth articles about Eastern and South-Eastern Europe to break down stereotypes. Julie is working part time as a communications officer in The Danish Foreign Policy and as a Project Assistant at the political medium Altinget.
