Jasmin Sharif

Article

Jasmin Sharif is a recent graduate who is a critical, yet positive explorer of the in-between of student and professional. Her studies in political theory and gender have launched her interests in power dynamics, including outside the academic realm. Jasmin is fascinated by how these dynamics can be reversed and the power of challenging dominant narratives. Her East African roots guided her to Kenya for an internship with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where she learned more about the resilient people of Somalia and experienced post-colonial realities. Now, Jasmin aims to focus locally by working for a youth project, hoping to stimulate the talents of future generations. In her work, she is involved with the needs of Muslim students and works on building community through her own initiatives. She does all of this without losing sight of her ‘responsibility’, which is ingrained in her everyday ethic.
