Ira Stup is the Director of J Street U, a national student organization advocating for a two-state solution to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. J Street U is a student-driven movement empowering young Americans on over 60 college campuses to strengthen their political capacity in order to help reshape US policy and Jewish communal politics in order to end the occupation and bring about a just and lasting resolution to the conflict. Previous to his work with J Street U, Ira lived in Tel Aviv, traveling and building relationships in both Israel and Palestine, as well as working with Holocaust Survivors and the children of asylum-seekers and refugees in South Tel Aviv. His background includes work on young adult HIV education, as well as LGBT civil rights issues. Ira holds a BA in American Studies from Columbia University and a degree in Jewish History from the Jewish Theological seminary. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
