Conferences

We run conferences that investigate the stories and histories behind today’s headlines.

WARNING: Please beware that scammers are reaching out to many people via email pretending to be hosting conferences in our name. The message recipients are asked to provide a variety of personal information, including full names, passport numbers, phone numbers, and places of residence. This has been an ongoing scam that is not affiliated or supported in any way by Humanity in Action.
Humanity in Action will only ever reach out via email with an email address ending in “@humanityinaction.org.” If you receive an email about a conference from other email addresses, we ask that you block the sender, and report these emails to your email host as spam. Do not provide any personal information via email.
If in doubt, please contact conference@humanityinaction.org with any questions regarding an email’s validity. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and thank you in advance!

Our conferences convene Humanity in Action Fellows, Senior Fellows, board members, friends, supporters and partners to discuss the most pressing issues of our time. They address past, present and future human rights and social justice issues on both sides of the Atlantic.

We like to keep our conferences interactive, dynamic and rich in formats. They feature keynotes, panel discussions, breakout sessions and workshops with leading local and international activists, artists, journalists, policymakers and speakers. We conceive of our conferences as spaces for creation and platforms for collaboration and community. They are designed to provide ample opportunity for networking, developing new cooperations and incubating project ideas.

In 2017 and 2018 alone, our conferences brought together over 1,000 speakers and 8,000 participants.
