Senior Fellow Giving Campaign 2021

Details

Article

As Humanity in Action prepares to enter its 25th year, we are launching the Senior Fellow Giving Campaign with the goal of raising $30,000. Through the Senior Fellow Giving Campaign, we ask our alumni to support us in creating opportunities for emerging leaders to ultimately create a more just world. Your contributions will make an immediate impact. Every gift matters!

For 2022, we are looking forward to new programs and events for our Senior Fellows, Fellows, and friends of Humanity in Action. We hope you will support us in achieving our fundraising goals so that we can continue growing and strengthening our Humanity in Action community.

This upcoming year will include new events, programs, grants, films and, international opportunities for our Fellows and Senior Fellows.

2021 Annual Fellowship Program

2021 Fellows from the United States

This past summer, our annual fellowship program continued virtually with great success. We engaged 109 new Fellows for three weeks of inspiring guest speakers, virtual site visits, and rich conversations about democracy and human rights issues.

2021-2022 Grants

Recipients of the 2021 Racial Equity and Detroit Grant Competitions

Humanity in Action continued the Racial Equity Grant for a second year, which supports 6 Fellows in their projects on racial equity and critical social change. We also continued the Detroit Grant Competition, which selected 4 recipients to support their work on community-centered development in Detroit.

Humanity in Action has also teamed up with the Bertelsmann Foundation and author Andrew Keen to produce a video and podcast series called How to Fix Democracy, which explores practical responses to the threats facing democracies around the world.

Upcoming Film Projects

Humanity in Action partnered with Foundation EVZ to create the animated short film “Social Cohesion and Combustion,” which intertwines the real life story of Senior Fellow and new American Planning Board member Bill De La Rosa with discussions on social unrest, economic instability, and the need for social justice. We are expanding further into the film industry with the production of a trilogy focused on various families and their experiences surviving World War II and avoiding capture. With your support, Humanity in Action can continue these projects and provide new programs, events, and opportunities for our Fellows and Senior Fellows in the coming year.

Every dollar you donate brings us closer to our $30,000 goal.

Remember that every dollar you donate brings us closer to our $30,000 goal. Your donation is tax-deductible and may be matched by some of your workplaces or affiliated organizations. No amount is too small! Looking at the state of our world today, it is more important than ever to support our network and create opportunities for emerging human rights leaders to learn, connect, and act.

Here is how you can get involved:

  • Please donate on our official fundraising platform;
  • If you prefer, you can also donate on Facebook;
  • Share this campaign on your social media platforms;
  • Spread the word to friends and loved ones who may also want to support Humanity in Action!

Looking ahead to 2022, we aim to continue growing Humanity in Action both in person and virtually, and we hope you will join us on this endeavor!
