About the 2020 Humanity in Action Berlin Fellowship
In light of the current Corona pandemic, the 2020 Humanity in Action Fellowship started virtually with daily weekday program that ran from June 3 to 24, 2020. We thank our Fellows for their trust and willingness to experiment collaboratively. Due to the virtual nature of the program, the Fellowship journey incorporated programming together with the entire cohort of 124 Fellows from other Humanity in Action Fellowship programs in Europe and the United States. This year’s Berlin Fellowship has brought together carefully selected university students and recent graduates from Europe and the United States to explore historic and contemporary human rights issues in Germany. The Fellows met with activists, artists, experts, and policymakers to explore a variety of human rights issues, including how and why individuals and societies, past and present, have resisted intolerance and protected democratic values. Between June 2020 and May 2021 our Fellows work on Action Projects in their own communities.
