The Humanity in Action Denmark’s October ‘43 Travel Grant will open for applications in August 2020. The Travel Grant is dedicated to young students and professionals who work with issues regarding refugees and/or the protection of minorities in either the academic, social, political or practical field. The travel grant applies to projects on Danish conditions or Danish engagements abroad.
The travel grant is established in commemoration of the solidarity of Danish civil society in its rescue of its Jewish country(wo)men in October 1943. It is made possible by funds raised at an art auction, exhibited in Politikens Forhal in September/October 2018, as a collaboration between Humanity in Action and Politiken for the 75th Anniversary of October 1943.
The application deadline for the 2019 Travel Grant was September 16, 2019. The 2019 Travel Grant was distributed on October 7, 2019. The recipient was Annika Isfeld with a project on the Faroe Islands. Learn more about Annika Isfeld here.
