Over the past weeks, Landecker Fellow Asha Shajahan has been a guest on multiple platforms to discuss the COVID-19 crisis. On the Detroit television station WDIV-TV, Asha was recently interviewed on Michigan’s Local 4 News to open up on her views as a frontline healthcare provider.
During the interview, Asha admits that back in 2020, she could not have expected one in 500 Americans dying from the pandemic. Further explaining that while the United States is heading into the right direction, she wishes it would be quicker.

With her mission to fight for health advocacy and vaccine misinformation, Asha was also guest on the Beaumont HouseCall Podcast. In the podcast episode, she discusses the hesitancy around vaccination and the way misinformation is shaping individual’s decisions to get vaccinated.
