Landecker Senior Fellow Asha Iman Veal is invited as a guest juror for the Fall 2021 bp Student Ideas Competition at the Chicago Architecture Biennial.

Since 2015, the international exhibition has hosted a range of competitions to encourage young students to explore “ideas about how design can play a role in creating collective spaces and improving communities.” For the Fall 2021 competition, students’ submissions are to be in alignment with the concept of the Available City, an inquiry directed by artist David Brown revolving around “the impact collective spaces can have in cities today.”

For the competition, Asha, amongst other jury members, will be asked to review and rank submissions independently. On the 10th of December, the jury will re-group to discuss the projects and identify winners. Winners will be announced during an award ceremony on the 16th of December at the Chicago Cultural Center.
