Erica Webb with Alabama Law students in support of new trial for man on death row

Senior Fellow Erica Webb is currently completing her third-year of Law school at the University of Alabama School of Law.

As president of the Criminal Law Society at Alabama Law she helped, pro bono, author this amicus brief on behalf of Mr. Toforest Johnson who has been on Alabama’s death row for 25 years.

Mr. Johnson’s legal team is based out of the Southern Center for Human Rights and the Death Penalty Clinic at Berkeley Law. This article highlights how, with 120 signatories, law students from across the state support his petition for a new trial, alongside the current district attorney of Jefferson County and the original trial prosecutor in his case.
