Senior Fellow Aakash Shah has been appointed to the 2021-2022 Class of White House Fellows. It is the most diverse class in the history of the program.

Reflecting on his professional background as practicing doctor, former Executive Director (and Founder!) of Be Jersey Strong, Aakash was placed at the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

According to the Press Release by the White House, “professional accomplishment, evidence of leadership skills, the potential for further growth, and a commitment to service” all contribute to selection into the program. The record of fellows is considered along with their experience before they continue within the extremely competitive process.

“Throughout the year, Fellows actively participate in an education program that expands their knowledge of leadership, policy-making, and contemporary issues. The mission of the White House Fellows Program is to encourage active citizenship and service to the country,” the Press Release states.
