Political engagement through art with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung

Details

Article

Landecker Fellow Cesy Leonard recently engaged in an online event organized by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung titled “DREAM(a)LAND?”.

The event questions the state of today’s Germany, more than three decades after reunification. Who are we and who could we be? How did history shape us and what can we tell ourselves about it? How can we actively participate in Germany? These are more questions were asked.

Joined by Bengt Bergt, member of the Bundestag from Schleswig-Holstein and Ronny Freier, economist and professor of public finance (TH Wildau), Cesy read out her essay and discussed political engagement in east and west – through art.

For more information about the event, visit this Friedrich Ebert Stiftung page or read Cesy’s LinkedIn post.

Cesy is one of thirty 2021-2022 Landecker Democracy Fellows. This fellowship, a collaboration between the Alfred Landecker Foundation and Humanity in Action, was created to strengthen a new generation of leaders whose approaches to political and social challenges can become catalysts for democratic placemaking and community building.
