Humanity in Action Poland deeply mourns the death of Mr. Henryk Wujec

Humanity in Action Poland deeply mourns the death of Mr. Henryk Wujec who passed on 15.08.2020. Mr. Wujec was a towering figure in the contemporary Polish history.  He was one of the key opposition leaders working first for the Committee of Workers Defense, underground press and then as one of Solidarity leaders. After 1989 he served as MP for more than 12 years, Minister, Secretary of State at the President Chancellery and founder of some political parties. Over these years he was a wonderful mentor for so many leaders in Poland and one of the architects of the Polish third sector.

The cooperation between Humanity in Action Poland and Mr. Wujec began in 2005 and since then he was very important over these years. He was for us and many other organizations a true supporter and moral leader always open to share his wisdom, experience, contacts… and smile. He walked the talk and was a truly DECENT person. It is a sad time for Poland. He is already missed but his legacy will live on!
