Senior Fellow Ianne Fields Stewart has been recently featured in TimeOut’s “Future Makers: 50 amazing people changing our world.” The article states that Ianne, the founder of The Okra Project, is “raising awareness of the difficulties that Black trans individuals face and providing concrete help and assistance to that community.” The Okra Project is dedicated to providing free, nutritious meals to Black trans people who do not have the resources to make themselves, as well as providing other forms of support, e.g. rental assistance.
