Statefree's resource for Stateless people fleeing Ukraine

Details

Article

Statefree is an organization established by Senior Landecker Fellow Christiana Bukalo. It is an online space building a digital bridge and connecting stateless people with their allies. In lights of the ongoing war in Ukraine, the platform has published a resource for stateless people fleeing the country.

The resource includes important things to consider when fleeing the country as a stateless person and is available in multiple languages including Ukrainian, French, Russian and English.

The guide suggests to:
  • take any documents which can prove one’s identity & residence in Ukraine
  • seek protection in EU countries
  • get familiar with the term “statelessness” in other languages
  • reach out to local NGOs

Aside from these suggestions, the resource includes further resources such as translations or a list of relevant organizations.
