Humanity in Action Senior Fellow Hoang Tran Hieu Hanh has been selected as a Mercator Fellow of The Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs. The project she will work on throughout the fellowship is called “Fleeing vs. Lockdown: Sustainable Approaches to Climate-induced Migration, Relocation and Displacement in the Time of COVID-19.” The fellowship lasts one year from October 2020 until September 2021.

The Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs annually sponsors 25 young German-speaking professionals and university graduates from all disciplines who are committed to improving the world of tomorrow. During the 12-month program, Fellows work in two or three international organizations – non-governmental or non-profit organizations, or business enterprises – that are active worldwide. The Fellows’ own practical questions serve as their project proposals and determine their workstations around the world. Seminars are also held on current issues in international cooperation and to develop  leadership skills and key competencies.
