The Diplomacy and Diversity Fellowship builds upon the foundation of 15 years of Humanity in Action programs about human rights, democracy, diversity and civic engagement in Europe, the United States and beyond. It represents an important expansion of Humanity in Action's programs into the field of foreign policy. The program is a joint collaboration of Humanity in Action, Inc. and Humanity in Action France.

The inaugural program will take place in Washington, DC and Paris from May 17 to June 14, 2014

This fellowship will explore how American and European governments and societies are responding to a wide range of international and national diversity issues. The Fellows will meet with leaders in government, business and NGOs to explore and research topics such as the impact of the economic and environmental crises on minorities, human trafficking, Roma issues in Europe, global LGBTQ rights and women's issues. In addition, the Fellows will also receive career guidance and workshops from international think tanks in Washington, DC and Paris. The Fellowship will conclude with the publication of a compilation of articles written by the Fellows about international and national diversity issues.

Humanity in Action welcomes applications from both Senior Fellows and non-Senior Fellows. Students currently enrolled in graduate or advanced professional programs (master's, doctorate, MD, JD and MBA) in the United States, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland are eligible to apply.  Click here for more information about eligibility.
