From a competitive pool of applicants, 18 Fellows were selected in Germany to join the 2021 Humanity in Action Fellows cohort.

Die Vermessung der Emotionen: Article by Nushin Yazdani and Marie Leidinger
Landecker Fellow Nushin Yazdani and Marie Leidinger have recently co-written an article, titled "Die Vermessung der Emotionen" for The Gunda Werner Institute for Feminism and Gender Democracy website. The piece discusses the emotion recognition systems, that are widely used in our society today.

Philosophy and design
Landecker Democracy Fellow Thomas Arnold will have a dialogue about Philosophy and design concerning the questions "what are they" and "should we get rid of them?" This dialogue is part of his Alfred Landecker Fellowship project and it will take place on May 20th, 2021 at 8:00 pm CEST.

Jewish-Muslim letter - A call for togetherness
Senior Fellow Nabila Abdel Aziz was interviewed by Deutschlandfunk Kultur about the joint letter from Jewish and Muslim community members in Germany. The letter is called “We will not be divided". In this tense situation, Jewish and Muslim individuals wrote this letter to send a signal that they were in solidarity with each other against both Antisemitism and anti-Muslim racism.

Online Talk: "From The Metropolis To The Town - The Role Of Urban Spaces In The Fight Against Racism"
Landecker Democracy Fellow Evein Obulor will participate in an online talk about the role of cities in supporting the creation of anti-racist and inclusive societies. The talk is held by "Schwarzkopf-Stiftung Junges Europa" and will take place on Wednesday, May 12th at 6pm CEST.

Book Publication: "Schwarz wird großgeschrieben"
Landecker Democracy Fellow Evein Obulor is publishing the collection of works by 20 Black FLINTAs (Women, Lesbian, Inter, Nonbinary, Trans, Agender) called "Schwarz wird großgeschrieben" (Black is capitalized). The book will be published on September 27th, 2021.
