When leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Croatia gathered in the U.S. city of Dayton, Ohio, in November 1995, the war in Bosnia had been raging for almost four years. The peace agreement they reached, known as the Dayton Peace Accords, has successfully targeted its primary objective, which was to bring an end to the war, an end to the violence, an end to the suffering.
