Humanity in Action The Netherlands develops intense, stimulating educational programs for high-schoolers, college students and – recent – graduates. We support local, community – based initiatives, offer Professional Fellowships, and organise training sessions as well as public events for larger audiences.

We believe in the power of diversity. We engage young people from various socio-economic, religious and cultural backgrounds.

The starting point of our programs is the relationship between past and present, theory and practice. From a historical perspective, we examine the current challenges in our diverse society with a specific regard for human rights and, in particular, the rights of minorities.

Our programs traditionally focus on the history of the Holocaust, the Second World War, as well as the slavery and colonial past of the Netherlands. From this historical perspective, a link is made with contemporary developments in society, where equality, civil rights and personal freedom are at stake.

We believe lifelong learning and collaborative projects are the basis of an active, international alumni network of students and – recent – graduates who work effectively for promoting democracy and the safeguarding of human and minority rights.
