Article

In honor of Senior Fellow Christina Antonakos-Wallce’s film premiere of From Here, members of our community are planning to come together to both celebrate Christina’s accomplishment.
In addition, this event with also give the Humanity in Action community an opportunity to discuss with Christina about the film and her process from Action Project to Film Festival.
See their invitation below:

Fellows and members of the Humanity in Action community,
This week marks the debut of From Here, a feature-length documentary from HIA Senior Fellow Christina Antonakos-Wallace (New York ’06).
Obviously this isn’t the world Christina imagined bringing the film into, but amidst a global uprising for racial justice, the themes the film explores around identity, belonging, and citizenship are more relevant than ever.
This is an invitation to an informal celebration and discussion with Christina, to be held over Zoom June 17th, at 4pm Pacific/ 7pm Eastern. Please register here to join us.
We encourage Fellows to watch the film beforehand; you can purchase tickets for the premiere with the Human Rights Watch virtual film festival here. The film will be available for screening June 11-20, so don’t worry if you can’t get to it before the 17th: all are welcome.
Yours in community,
Anthony Chase (Staff ’13-’18)
Brian Stout (Denmark ’04)
Danielle Goonan (New York ’09)
Aisha Turner (Denmark ’11)
Kadija Diallo (France ’15)
Christa Tandana (Denmark ’13)
