Our community takes action to defend democratic values around the world. Explore our Fellows' Action Projects here.
In the 11 months following the on-site or virtual Fellowship program, our Fellows work on their Action Project: an independent venture focused on promoting democratic values in their own communities. Action Projects are as diverse as Humanity in Action Fellows. Fellows apply their new knowledge and perspectives to the communities they impact—in whatever format they find meaningful. The Humanity in Action community is a great resource for getting support—be it with contacts, experience or good advice. Magazine Created by and for People with Intellectual Disabilities
People with disabilities constitute the world's biggest minority. However, this social group is not homogenous. For instance, research shows that people with intellectual disabilities are much more disproportionately discriminated against and marginalized in comparison to people with other types of impairments. Simultaneously, a strong social stigma is attached to people with intellectual disabilities which renders them socially and culturally ‘invaluable’.
Borders in Us
Zulejka Nowicka highlights, she hopes her Action Project will “motivate people to show that they are not indifferent to the humanitarian crisis on the Polish-Bearusian border and to (...) keep the topic alive among a wider group of people''.
The Art of Openness
In combining art, theatre or music workshops with teachings about equality and tolerance, Karolina wants to give voice to the teenagers, who can then use their art to communicate the issues they really care about.
Setting Boundaries - empowering workshops for women
In the current political situation, which due to women’s equality backlashes continues also to disempower women by objectifying their bodies, there is an urgent need of passing on knowledge about setting boundaries and allowing one to express their sexuality as a subject, not an object.
EDVACAY Alumni Podcast Project
This initiative is focused on showcasing the work and successes of five participants from the previous nine generations of the EDVACAY program through a trending format of video podcast. Through five episodes of podcasts, EDVACAY Alumni Daniel Lazarević (2014/15) and Mahir Sijamija (2013/14) want to show to the wider audience how some of the participants benefited from this program, how they used it in their formal and non-formal education, and how they led by their example and encouraged others to be socially responsible and active in their local community.
