Action Projects are a core element of our 'Educate, Connect, Inspire Action' model and a major component of both the Sarajevo Fellowship and EDVACAY Fellowship, as well as other Humanity in Action Bosnia and Herzegovina programs. Following the on-site learning modules and programming, Fellows design and implement Action Projects that promote democratic values and create positive change in their own communities. These projects are as diverse as our Fellows themselves, reflecting the many ways in which they apply their new knowledge, skills, and perspectives. Throughout this process, participants benefit from the strong Humanity in Action network, gaining support through shared experience, connections, and guidance.

Project “One Heart – Two Homes” is aimed at providing children without parental care with support, new knowledge, and experiences through creative and educational activities.

EDVACAY Project: The Forest of Forgotten Scents – Šuma zaboravljenih mirisa
“The Forest of Forgotten Scents” is a living memorial project that, through the act of planting trees, pays tribute to the victims of femicide in Bosnia and Herzegovina, transforming nature into a living monument.

EDVACAY Project: U zdraviji mozak
The fellows designed and produced a series of short animated films explaining the key elements of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s educational and political structure. The project aimed to enhance political literacy among youth, encourage them to independently explore how the state functions, and help them recognize their own role in its development.

EDVACAY Project: Kol’ko košta papir?
EDVACAY Fellows launched the project “Kol’ko košta papir?” (How Much Does a Piece of Paper Cost?) to highlight the unequal administrative fee charges for basic documents among students and unemployed individuals in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The initiative aimed to advocate for free document certification regardless of a person’s place of residence, recognizing that seemingly small administrative costs often create real barriers for young people pursuing education or employment.

2025 NED Action Week: A Migrants’ Manual for BiH and the EU
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a key transit country for migrants heading toward the European Union, yet reliable information about rights and available services is limited. To address this gap, the Fellows created A Migrants’ Manual for BiH and the EU—a practical guide designed to help people on the move access essential resources and protect their rights.

Srebrenica Flower, Part of Our Heritage
'Srebrenica Flower, Part of Our Heritage' is a project dedicated to preserving the memory of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide. Using the symbol of the Srebrenica Flower, it explores personal and collective experiences of loss, resilience, and remembrance.
