Humanity in Action Holds Its Third International Conference in Sarajevo
The 2012 Humanity in Action International Conference took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina from the evening of Wednesday, June 27 through Sunday, July 1.
The Humanity in Action International Conference is the annual gathering of more than 200 young and established leaders committed to promoting human rights, diversity and active citizenship in their own communities and around the world.
The conference's program featured world-class speakers leading discussions on reconciliation, memorialization and human rights. It included site visits to Potočari, the memorial site for the Srebrenica massacres, to Mostar and to the frontlines of the siege of Sarajevo. The agenda also featured skills training sessions and networking opportunities for Humanity in Action Fellows and Senior Fellows.
By bringing this event to Sarajevo, Humanity in Action hopes to encourage its global network of more than 1,100 Senior Fellows to become involved in promoting reconciliation in the Balkans and to build the foundation for the expansion of the Humanity in Action Fellowship to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
